Chris Irwin

Chris Irwin - www.chrisirwin.com
After 25 years of wisdom gleaned from his dedication to the well-being of the horse, Chris Irwin's evolutionary approach to horsemanship is becoming mainstream. "Horses Don't Lie," Chris' first book released in 1998, became an instant bestseller. Chris Irwin's stellar reputation in the horse world has been built around the premise: "Ask not what your horse can do for you; ask what you can do for your horse. Horses don’t lie. They don’t separate how they feel from how they act. Whether they’re feeling scared, confused, submissive, bold, or just relaxed and confident – and believe it, horses feel all theses emotions and more – they tell you exactly where they’re at and what they want from you and mean it down to the bone every single time.” Irwin’s philosophy of horse training encourages the horse owner to be strong and compassionate, transparent, calm, focused, consistent and assured.

Birgit Stutz

Birgit Stutz
- www.fallingstarranch.ca
Birgit offers horse training, riding lessons and horsemanship clinics in English and Western style. Birgit is a Chris Irwin Gold Certified Trainer and Coach and all training and coaching is based on Chris Irwin's non-resistance methods. Birgit works with the horse, and not against it, in an assertive, non-threatening way, using positive reinforcement and verbal praise. The non-resistance training principles are based on the concept of getting the horse's body, spirit and mind ready, able and willing to say "yes" to whatever we want it to do. All of Birgit's handling, training, riding and coaching is carefully geared to engender calmness, confidence, willingness, focus, respect, trust and sensitivity in the horse. When working with a horse (and rider), Birgit's goal is to keep the stress level low by keeping things simple and consistent and to establish a positive pattern of success. Birgit wishes for the horse to become a happy, safe, sane, calm, relaxed, reliable, willing, responsive, balanced, focused, confident and collected equine partner, instead of a scared, inverted, braced, angry, sullen, high-strung or defeated animal. Owners of horses in training are encouraged to come and observe the ongoing training during the training sessions to fully understand how the horse is being trained. Falling Star Ranch also offers camps for adults, kids camps, equine behaviour workshops, demos and short courses and mentorship programs. Please visit our website for more information.

Doug Mills

Doug Mills
- www.dougmills.com
Doug Mills has built his training skills and riding abilities over a lifetime of horsemanship. Being born and raised on a working cattle ranch in Price, Utah, offered Doug a lifestyle that gave him the opportunity to observe horses and their instincts in their natural environment. This is the key to Doug's ability to read and communicate with horses. Doug credits many clinicians and trainers for the success of his program, but the horse is still his most influential teacher. Doug is very passionate about sharing his knowledge with people, so that horses can overcome their "people problems." See for yourself why so many people around the world have become so inspired by the simplicity of his program, and the confidence and skills they have developed to become better leaders, confidence builders, and good communicators with their equine partners.

Hélène Perreault

Hélène Perreault - www.x-equo.com/english.html
I am the first Canadian to be recognized and certified by the France Equitation Federation (FFE) as I had received my level 2 Certificate in Ethology Equitation (Brevet Fédéral d'Équitation Éthologique: BFEE 2). This new FFE program, launched at the Salon du Cheval de Paris in December 2003, conceived the Ethology Equitation as a natural horse approach based on TRUST and RESPECT, revalues the human/horse relationship and reintegrates the work on the ground. Therefore, more than training riders, this program aims at training “Horsemen.” In 1998, I discovered the natural horsemanship approach via the Parelli program and I had the opportunity to participate in many clinics from level 1, 2 and 3 in Canada, the United States and in Europe. Since 2003, I have had the opportunity to discover other programs such as Andy Booth (Haras de la Cense), Ray Hunt, Leslie Desmond, Chris Irwin, Jean-François Pignon and Élizabeth de Corbigny's. I hope that I will be able to pursue my journey for a long time for the benefit of the horses and the people that I meet.
