- R. J. (Bob) Sagely - www.sagehorsemanship.com
- I've been hanging around horses long enough to know two things for certain: I now know a lot about horses and I know that there is a whole lot more for me to learn about them. Since the day I was given a horse by a friend of my uncle, I have been a student of horse behavior, human behavior when they are around horses. Growing up in Southern California, the birthplace of Californio style horsemanship, I was fortunate enough to learn about horse and cattle handling from the ancestors of vaqueros who rode for the Rancho Santa Margarita (modern day Mission Viejo) and the Mission de San Juan Capistrano. After a little time in other regions of the country, I came to realize that my initial exposure was preferable to the horse and to me. So I now focus on refining what I do that falls within the ways and philosophy of the Old Californio style of horsemanship, the predecessor and source for natural horsemanship principles. I try to offer the horse the most precious and critical of thing I can. That thing is simply time - time to understand; time to learn; time to be alright with his life. Beyond that it does get a little more complex. This does not however involve the use of fear or force. I try to keep the natural curiosity and spirit of the horse intact as I help him change into a partner and sound mount. Sage Horsemanship offers horsemanship and Old Californio vaquero style roping clinics country-wide and one on one, at home help for those who live nearby. Give me a call if I can be of help to you.

- Joel W. Meyers - www.wix.com/cowboy79/gwnh
- Natural Horsemanship creates a relationship with a horse by communicating in the same natural language they use with each other: body language, touch and feel. It creates an unusual inter-species bonding between a predator animal (the human) and a prey animal (the horse). Using Love, Language, and Leadership, Natural Horsemanship enables the human to understand the relationship from the horse's point of view. He can then communicate with the horse not only physically but more importantly mentally and emotionally. This transforms the relationship into a mutual willing partnership by creating the necessary qualities required in all positive human relationships: mutual love, trust and respect. It is these qualities that allow the horse to accept the human as his respected and trusted leader on the ground and on his back. This is the secret to riding together with harmony.

- Kim Walnes - www.thewayofthehorse.com
- Kim Walnes was one of
the first riders on the US Equestrian Team to
use Natural Horsemanship and centered riding;
she was ridiculed by many in the horse establishment
for her views. Her results speak for themselves.
She now travels doing clinics and private instruction.
If you ever have a chance to go to one of her
clinics or take a lesson from her, it will certainly
change your riding and maybe change your life!

- 3 Star Parelli Instructor.
I got my first pony when I was 5 and have had
horses most of my life. My lifelong dream was
to dance with my horse. I chose to study dressage
and reining to accomplish this. In 1997, I found
Parelli Natural Horsemanship! I have had more
fun than I ever could have imagined playing
and communicating as horses do. What's more,
I have danced! I have great admiration for Pat's
program and would love to share it with you.
I am the only endorsed PNH instructor in PA.
Reynoldsville is nestled in scenic, wooded hill
country along I-80, 100 miles east of the Ohio
line. I can provide lessons at my home or can
travel to your location to help you get the
relationship with your horse that you desire.

- Michelle Eccles - www.michelleeccles.com
- Michelle Eccles graduated
in 2002 from the John Lyons’ training program
and is a John Lyons Certified Trainer. Michelle
is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania; she
has trained hundreds of horses, dealt with lots
of different breeds and has helped many people
through various training programs. Any horse
can be trained regardless of age, gender, past
experiences or breed type. It's knowing how
to ask for specific responses and knowing how
to tell your horse "YES!" If you interact
with horses in any way- you are a trainer. Keeping
an open mind and keeping yourself safe is so
important. Having a calm horse at the end of
the lesson is having a horse that positively
learned what you were teaching. Michelle also
believes that teaching kids to teach horses
is very important. Emphasis on kids learning
how to train horses is one of Michelle’s passions.
Kids and horses just naturally belong together.
