Kirsten Rose

Kirsten Rose - www.allabouthorses.co.nz
With over two decades of experience in working and playing with horses, I have enjoyed most of all working with their owners to encourage a non-violent and non-invasive way of spending time with these wonderful creatures. One on One training sessions and clinics in overall behaviour and care contribute to natural horsemanship's way of being able to understand the mind of the horse and human, so we can get the best out of both ourselves and our horse.

Ken & Jane Dromgool

Ken & Jane Dromgool - www.horseman.co.nz
The object of teaching is to get the horse to do what we want it to do, when we want it to do it. We use respect, communication and trust rather than force and intimidation. It is paramount to create a respectful relationship between ourselves and the horse rather than having a relationship where we always dominate and the horse always submits. Good horsemanship to us is when the horse follows a feel. This only happens when we feel the horse from his mind right through to his feet.

Abi Ricketts

Abi Ricketts - www.abiricketts.com
I have spent most of my life around horses since the age of 6. Initially I learnt to be with horses the traditional way, but about 10 years ago discovered Natural Horsemanship which helped me to understand The Horse in a new and inspirational way. I have now started my own business and use natural horsemanship to help horses, ponies and/or people to achieve their goals whether it be personal, i.e. be more confident in themselves, or equine related. I can offer lots of options to those with their own four legged friend(s) as well as those without who would like to learn this unique and amazing way to be with The Horse. If transporting your horse/pony to lessons is a problem, then I have a mobile service where I can come to your paddock for lessons/training. For more information please have a look at the website where you can find out more about me and what I do. I look forward to increasing your knowledge of The Horse and teaching you how to become one with these special animals.

Jenny Patterson

Jenny Patterson - www.horsemanshipnz.com
I have been teaching Horsemanship throughout New Zealand for the last 10 years and have met hundreds of people and their horses over this time. I therefore have the benefit of observing, comparing and learning from them all. Especially where it comes to the causes of many health and behaviour problems experienced throughout the country.

The idea is to give a horse a good foundation. 'Whatever' you plan to do with a horse they need a good foundation. Getting a good start for a horse is essential. I take my job very seriously. We work with each horse as an individual and don't use force or restraint. For a horse to be soft and willing they must 'understand' what is being asked of them. I have ridden all my life and have competed in many different types of horse events. I started my first horse as a teenager. For the last 10 years I have been fulltime starting horses professionally.
