PICTURE OF THE MONTH:

July 2006

Registered QH mare Pepsi (21), foal Diddles with Robyn

Hi Sylvia. I am sending you this photo just because you are about horses. This baby isn't 24 hours old yet in this picture; she actually came right over to my sister Robyn ahead of the mare. Thanks again for your web site and all the information that you put on it. It is truly appreciated! Regards,

LETTER OF THE MONTH:

July 2006

Hi Sylvia. I have not e-mailed you in months. I was e-mailing you on a daily basis; I'm sure you're thrilled that has stopped! I hope you remember me and my horse. I had some severe problems with him, and myself. I could write a book to you about what has gone on with us, but I'll spare you the agony! To make a long story short, my horse and I are 100% improved. I got a trainer out here, as you so knew I needed, and recommended. It was the best thing that ever happened to me and my horse. And actually I'm so glad that he started to act the way he did, because I would never have learned what I know now. He is my best friend, I spend hours and hours with him every day. I was getting scared to death of him before, thought I needed to sell him....it's amazing. I'm not sure what your thoughts on clicker training are, but this is what I have been doing, coupled with many, many of your NH techniques. I wake up every day eager to learn something new with him, it's awesome! He is a new horse. And I am his proud owner, trainer, doesn't get any better than that! I'll never stop learning. Thank you so much for coaching me via e-mail as much as you did. I still read your Q & A often, and will always continue to. You are why my horse and I have succeeded. Thank You!

LETTER OF THE MONTH:

July 2006

Hi Sylvia, I sincerely thank you for taking time out of your busy life to offer me the encouragement to "listen to and follow {my} heart" [about becoming a natural horsemanship trainer, no matter what age you are.] Your comment that "life is short enough" really has meaning now. Just yesterday the world awaited!! But then "life happened" and girlhood dreams were stored away until now there is time again to reflect and hopefully act on those inner desires. My heart is certainly in the right place even if the body is not cooperating as it once did!! I am going to relax, and then follow your advice to "take your watch off." I will continue to love and care for my two precious horse friends to the best of my ability. Who knows what tomorrow will bring! Maybe I will even be fortunate enough to attend one of your trainer certification programs when you get it up and running!

Sylvia, your statement that "the journey IS the reward" is profound. On reflection, that is exactly how I perceive my life to this point.

Again THANK YOU! Your sincere and interested response to my questions brought tears to my eyes. And in closing, let me borrow from a quote in your  handbook: "I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now..."  Sylvia, you epitomize this Stephen Grellet quote!

GOD BLESS YOU!

LETTER OF THE MONTH:

July 2006

I love what you do! I'm a huge fan even though I'm only nine. I think I can do what you can. Any horse I go near it just loves me. I went near a wild horse and it came straight up to me, it loved me!
