LETTER OF THE MONTH:

January 2011

Good morning Sylvia, I just wanted to let you know that I will be ordering your Complete Training Package, hopefully in the next month or so, but wanted to explain to you "why." The main reason, of course, will be for me to work with my Off-Track Thoroughbred mare...I have seen, and tried many, many natural horsemanship methods but found that most did not look "natural" at all, or some of the commercial trainers I found lack foundation instruction, which is so important!

So, while browsing the internet for "natural horsemanship", AND "retraining ex-racehorses," I stumbled upon one of your Q & A pieces. Just the first sentence struck a chord with me, so I began reading EVERYTHING from your site. My husband would check on me every couple of hours to see if I was ok, as he knows I am a very mobile person, and to see me glued to my computer for so long concerned him, but I assured him that it was worth it. Although I have worked with other methods, I want to start from scratch with yours, as I saw the difference in the newly gelded QH on your site. For anyone who carefully notices the changes, you can easily see each photo the entire body of the horse change, not just his psyche.

The OTHER reason why I want to order the entire set, is that I also work with many rescued horses each week as part of my equine massage business. I donate my time to organizations who have rescued or taken in retired horses, to help them prepare for their new careers. I'm often called in to help the ones with major "trust" issues, and massage helps that tremendously. But I also believe, after seeing the "safe place" you talk about so often, that I can use some of those same principles as well as massage to really speed up the rehabilitation of these horses.

I'm very excited about your whole program. The benefits will be for personal, but also professional.  My motto is "The more horses I can help, the happier I am."

Thank you for offering the information you know about horses to the public. Private owners, as well as any barn manager, trainer, etc., should learn what you have to teach.
