LETTER OF THE MONTH: April 2011 Good afternoon, Ms. Scott: I ordered your Round Pen Leadership DVD last week and received it in my mailbox just two days later. Thank you for such speedy service!! I thought your work with the three horses was excellent, and extremely educational...Thank you for your time, and for your invaluable training aids. Sincerely, W. F. - Tipton, Michigan
LETTER OF THE MONTH: April 2011 Dear Sylvia, Greetings from Texas. I wanted to thank you for your web site. I have a 2 1/2 yr old holsteiner. She is extremely smart and usually willing to attempt anything I ask her. I had purchased and used training material from a well know trainer from Australia and his training techniques all make sense and added on to how I was taught growing up around horses. But my horse would not respond to the backing up cues the training techniques taught. I was so frustrated and felt I was just teaching her to stand still while I jiggled the rope and swung the fiberglass whip. I was at the highest possible volume of pressure and felt going any further would border on abuse (I could not get one step out of her). A friend told me about you and I have been so excited reading through your website. I read your Q&A on getting the horse to back up from the ground; it made so much more sense to me. Yesterday I did exactly what you said and she backed out of my way immediately. I was amazed, I had spent the entire previous morning working on the back up cues from the ground with no result. After only five minutes doing it your way, a slight jiggle on the lead rope is all it takes for her to back out of my space now. Thank you so much for your help. J. D. - Texas
