LETTER OF THE MONTH: April 2007 Just wanted to tell you that I enjoy the information you have on your web site. The fact that you put the round pen exercise in detail is fantastic. When I get enough money together I will purchase your videos. Your prices are very reasonable! Thanks again. You're great! K. M. - Lyndonville, New York
LETTER OF THE MONTH: April 2007 Aloha Sylvia! Just watched your round penning video. Looks like you are an awesome long-distance teacher! I can see that just through your web site and million email supports you gave me, that you raised a definite protégé! The only thing I have been doing different is the head tilt then point part. I am sure I do something similar just not as deliberate and crystal clear because I do get the turns without the rope. I will begin doing that to be more clear with communicating cues. I already do the body tilt and hunch a lot just like you. Otherwise your video was so right on with what you taught me and what I have been doing...Thanks Sylvia as always for all your help! You made a better horsewoman out of me! R. B. - Hauula, Hawaii
LETTER OF THE MONTH: April 2007 You are awesome! I recently lost a QH that was very close to me and you are very inspiring! S. C. - Oxford, New York
LETTER OF THE MONTH: April 2007 Your response was so helpful and I was totally impressed with how much information you provided. You were "right on" and it worked perfectly. Once you made clear about the order of things and that this was an issue of leadership and a shut-down horse, in spite of past abuse, it made all the difference in the world and it freed me up to take control in the round pen, and THEN, start the bonding process. Taking your direction and practicing the Volume Thinking, I first still needed the popper and a white flag, but within 20 minutes, he was listening to me like we were doing a round-penning video. He joined up a bit more slowly at first but I have maintained being the director and I have been taking baby steps and letting him soak as I gauge how quickly to move forward. I quickly became able to disengage his hindquarters easily (low on the Volume with staring and pointing my finger) and have had him following me all around the round pen. He has been terribly ear-shy, but along with search-touching around his head and neck and head-lowering and lip-licking [your program I'm following in your DVD's}, I have been able to ease this considerably and continue the bonding and training process. I'm sure I'll have more questions, but you are right when you say "this works" and "you can do it." I am really having fun and I think my horse is also! A big THANK YOU! D. B. - Mesa, Arizona
LETTER OF THE MONTH: April 2007 Hi. I just wanted to say your training article [on your web site] of the 10-year-old Arab was so neat. I too have Arabians and of course a newly adopted PMU draft/thoroughbred cross colt 11 months old. Anyway, I just wanted to say that was a beautiful mare and I am sooooo happy you could help her. I dearly love my Arabians. They are so very smart and willing to learn anything. As long as they can trust you, they will take care of you along the way. Thank you for taking the time to help us and I am happy to have found you and your team. I am a Montana gal who dearly loves these God-given gifts, the equine. Take care, C. B. - Ennis, Montana
LETTER OF THE MONTH: April 2007 I purchased your Round Penning DVD and found it very helpful. I thought I'd try your full training (Whispering Way 12-Step Total Training System) DVDs now. D. C. - Conover, Ohio
LETTER OF THE MONTH: April 2007 Thanks - I am kind of proud of myself - seeing where I was a couple of weeks ago (very frustrated). I can't thank you enough for all of your help. I am pretty sure if I hadn't come across your web site and your DVD's and email support, I would have given up. So I can't thank you enough for everything. You have made this a lot easier and clearer for me. T. B. - Greenville, Ohio
LETTER OF THE MONTH: April 2007 Hi. I love your web site! I get so many answers for questions I want to ask my coach but she never tells me an answer. For example, you told someone how to get her horse parade ready and carry a flag (but the mare was afraid of flapping stuff). I am riding 2 horses for a couple, a 15-year-old Morgan/Arab cross gelding and a 5-year-old Morgan mare. I want to desensitize them (I just think it would be a good thing to do, as the gelding can spook at stuff, and it would be good education for the filly). My coach's answer to my question of how to do it safely was, "Take them to a professional!." Your web site explained how to do it so well, I'm looking forward to when I start doing it! D. - Internet
