Groundwork

Groundwork takes you step-by-step from "halter to saddle" working with your colt from the ground. Buck Brannaman takes a 2-year-old colt through his Round Pen Process. Groundwork gives an introduction to halter breaking, leading, mannering, longeing, driving, and saddling, always with you and your colt's safety in mind. (1½ hours)

The First Ride

Just as its name indicates, this is the next video following Buck's Groundwork.  Buck demonstrates the way to keep you and your horse safe as you step into the saddle and move into your new horse/rider relationship.  (1 hour)

Horsemanship

An overview on how Buck Brannaman works with riders and their horses to help them achieve the goals of his horsemanship clinics – a true, honest communication between horse and rider. The riders in the video work on real life problems in a question and answer format. (1 hour)

Trailer Loading & Problem Solving

In this video, Buck Brannaman gives a step-by-step lesson on loading and unloading the horse into a trailer. Buck also includes a demonstration of some solutions to common problems that the rider may face. Touched upon are bridling technique, correctly mounting and dealing with horses that may bite, lean, or rub on you. (1 hour)

From the Ground Up

In this two-volume set, From the Ground Up features an in depth look at starting colts – from Buck's saddle horse – as well as from the rider's saddle. This set features questions and answers to many common problems. Buck Brannaman is the narrator and comments as the young horses progress. (2½ hours)

The Making of a Bridle Horse Series

The traditional four-step technique is completely explained and demonstrated in Buck's easy-going, visual style in this four part, three video series.

Part 1 - The Snaffle Bit starts from the first ride. You'll learn the ways of the snaffle and "the soft feel" while applying them to the walk, trot and lope. Buck will even help you with your roping. This tape is for any riding discipline. (1 hour)

Part 2 - The Hackamore takes you and your horse on to the next step in your schooling. You'll learn how to use the horsehair mecate and move your horse through all gaits in the elegant, braided hackamore (bosal) working towards a total communication with the lightest commands. (1 hour)

Part 3 - The Two-Rein & The Bridle is the third of the three part series featuring Buck and the process of taking a horse from the hackamore to the next steps. Stress is placed on the proper gear and its use as one progresses from the hackamore into the two-rein and on to the bridle. From bits to tying the bosalita is discussed. (1 hour)
